My wife brought me to Nevada County to visit with her family and it was love at first sight. She grew up here and asked me to come back home with her. I am delighted that I did. We have two children and I am first and foremost a family man. I respect the family and the turns in the road a family can face. In my practice I hope to assist my clients to navigate through the legal process with the goal to reach a resolution they can adjust to and live with.

I am a North Carolina native and graduated from Charlotte School of Law, magna cum laude and with pro bono honors. In law school, I participated in a reform of The City of Charlotte hiring practices as they related to people with conviction histories. This work was done through the Charlotte School of Law Civil Rights Clinic, which won the 2014 CLEA Award for Excellence in Public Interest Case or Project for my work with that project, Ban the Box.

I also worked with Legal Aid of North Carolina and many other non-profit organizations. Since my move here, I am working as a mediator and Board of Directors member for the Conflict Resolution Center of Nevada Count, and I volunteer with Community Legal (a non-profit legal services organization). I also participate in the Northern California Referral Service's Law Practice Academy.

My intent is to serve clients with intelligence, compassion and respect for their different situations and issues, and I hope to be a vital, contributing member of this wonderful community.
